Dian Gomes currently serves as the Honorary Consul of Georgia in Sri Lanka. He is the former Chairman of Hela Clothing PLC and the former Group Director of the USD 3 billion apparel enterprise, MAS Holdings. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), and Certified Practicing Accountants (Australia), Dian received his Executive Education at Wharton, Ashridge, and Harvard Business Schools.

He has held numerous leadership roles, including President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) Sri Lanka Division in 2001/2002, and served on the Board of Nestlé Lanka PLC and other key organizations. A passionate sports leader, Dian led the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka from 2004–2009 and again from 2017–2024, while also serving as Vice President of the National Olympic Committee and President of the National Fencing Association. He is currently a Board Director of the International Boxing Association and the Asian Boxing Confederation.

Dian represented Sri Lanka as Chef de Mission at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and in 2013 became the first Sri Lankan appointed to the Commonwealth Advisory Body on Sport (CABOS), the policy advisory body to the Commonwealth Secretariat.

His exceptional contributions have been recognized globally. In 2014, he received the African Sports Management and Leadership Award for Outstanding Individual Contribution to Sports. He was named Business Leader of the Year 2003 at the CIMA-Janashakthi Pinnacle Awards and was Highly Commended by CIMA-UK at the 2004 Business Leader Awards in London. Dian was also honored as Business Icon of the Year 2012 at the CIMA Leadership Awards.

Widely celebrated for his influence in business and brand building, Dian was recognized as one of Sri Lanka’s Male Icons by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing in 2007 and received the Brand Leadership Award by the World Brand Congress in 2009. From 2020 to 2022, he served as a Director of the Public Service Commission of Sri Lanka’s Civil Service. In 2019, he was conferred the national title of “Sri Lanka Sikhamani” by President Hon. Maithripala Sirisena for his outstanding service to the nation.
